Our story
Let's start by introducing ourselves. We are Thijs (26) and Simon (28), two friends from Eindhoven, who regret that so much disposable plastic tableware is still used.
Feel-good market in Eindhoven 17/12/2023
Simon's family lived in India around 1992, where almost every household used stainless steel tableware. It's durable, BPA-free, lightweight, and easy to clean. It's also decorative. Since then, Simon's family has used it every day at home, and they plan to continue doing so for the rest of their lives, as it doesn't break. Simon has traveled to India twice a year since he was born, and he's never given it up. Friends and family always asked him to bring stainless steel lunch boxes, plates, and bowls because they're so convenient.
A few years ago, Thijs accompanied Simon to India. When Thijs saw Simon buying stainless steel lunch boxes and plates, he wondered if you couldn't just buy them in the Netherlands. We decided to look online to see what was available and noticed that there was very little stainless steel tableware available, and what was available was also very expensive. We noticed that people were more inclined to opt for plastic tableware because of the price. We wanted to change this, and we decided to start selling stainless steel tableware ourselves. Our mission is to help as many households as possible switch from plastic to stainless steel tableware at an affordable price.
Simon went to India looking for a supplier. The supplier had to be not only inexpensive but also treat his staff well. After days of wandering through Chennai's stainless steel district and handling hundreds of plates, cups, and lunch boxes, he found a good supplier. We immediately bought in bulk to keep prices low.
Once we arrived in the Netherlands, we decided to do everything ourselves. We took the photos and built the website ourselves. The more we do ourselves, the cheaper we can keep our products.
